Bonhomme

I went with my mom to the 'Museum aan het Vrijthof' where she decorated two 18th century style rooms.
The one we shot these pictures in was the Bonhomme Salon, based on a 1880's Dutch Salon.

Ik ben me mijn moeder naar het 'Museum aan het Vrijthof' geweest waar zij twee 18e eeuwse stijlkamers heeft ingericht.
De kamer waar we deze foto's hebben gemaakt was de Bonhomme Salon, gebaseerd op een Nederlands Salon uit 1880.

The antique watch was a gift from the mother of my boyfriend. And even tough I can't tell time from an analogue clock (no really I can't) I love it very much for both it's sentimental value, and because it's so beautiful and tiny. I never understood why women started to wear men watches during the first feminist wave, our wrists are not build for that kind of violence. 

Het antike horloge was een cadeau van de moeder van mijn vriendje. Ik kan dan wel geen klok kijken (nee echt niet) maar het is me erg dierbaar, zowel voor de sentimentele waarde en omdat het zo prachtig en klein is. Ik heb nooit begrepen waarom vrouwen mannen horloges zijn gaan dragen tijden de eerste feministische golf, onze polsen zijn niet gebouwd voor zulk geweld. 

I think I fitted right in with my romantic new little Zara dress. The lace is amazing. Even tough Zara is not the most expensive brand ever, and quite often the fit is all wrong, they do have very beautiful delicate lace. And I am a huge sucker for that. 

Ik paste erg mooi bij het interieur met mijn romantische nieuwe Zara jurkje. Het kant is prachtig. Ook al is Zara niet het duurste merk ooit, en ook al zit de pasvorm en meestal naast, het kant dat ze gebruiken is prachtig. En daar kan ik niet tegenop.
